A heritage-led redevelopment anchored by the adaptive re-use of the former Peatt Boot Factory, a substantial red-brick industrial complex that reflects Collingwood’s emergence as a centre of manufacturing, labour, and local enterprise.
Through research-driven storytelling, the site’s industrial past was shaped into a clear and accessible narrative, intended for use across marketing, placemaking, and interpretation. Rather than producing a purely technical heritage account, the work focused on storytelling that brought underlying patterns to the surface: the factory's over time staged growth, the role of local labour and industrial craft, and its place within Collingwood’s tightly woven residential and working landscape.
The final site history gave Banco Group a concise and credible narrative foundation that:
-
clarified the site’s historical significance without overstating it
-
translated complex industrial history into accessible, human-scale stories
-
produced material readily adaptable for marketing, design conversations, and placemaking initiatives.
